On 20 July 2025 NDTV reported that the family of a popular Gujarati singer had built a memorial for an old scooter beside their ancestral house at Kheralu in Mehsana district. The vehicle was a Bajaj Super, a model discontinued in 2006. His father Hasmukh Barot was photographed putting a tika on it, garlanding the handlebars and wrapping it in a shawl.

The singer's own Instagram post, quoted by NDTV in translation, explains the object: "This is my father's scooter, on which he and I used to go from village to village for programmes in the early days of my career. We have given this scooter a memorial in front of our house." His father put it more bluntly: "This scooter was my life, so I built a memorial for it. I will tell my children that this scooter brought joy to our lives. They must light lamps before this memorial during Diwali."

Strip the sentiment out and you are left with a logistics fact. The dayro and folk circuit is not a venue business, it is a road business. Villages, temple compounds, wedding grounds, katha stages, none of them reachable by anything except a two wheeler with two men and a harmonium on it. The family enshrined the distribution network.

The Times of India entertainment desk interviewed him on 20 February 2020 and reported that he was based in Kheralu near Mehsana, came from a musical family, had been working for over fourteen years and had lent his voice to songs in more than fourteen films. That interview appears to be the earliest substantial piece of English language reporting about him, and by the time it ran he had been a working professional since roughly 2006.

The films it refers to are largely undocumented. Not one of the titles has an English encyclopedia page, which is why this page reports the count as the newspaper's claim rather than restating it as a verified filmography. What is checkable on a streaming catalogue is Baby Bewafa, credited to him and attached to the film Lagan Laagii Re. One traceable film song and a newspaper saying there are more than fourteen is an honest summary of the paperwork behind a two million follower career.

The song titles tell you what the material is. Baby Bewafa. Maru Aa Dil Tara Baap Ni Jagir Nathi, which is roughly this heart of mine is not your father's estate. Time Pass Tuto Mara Prem Ma Kari Gai. Hath Ma Chhe Whiskey, the record the Times of India named as the one that made him. This is the bevafa song, the north Gujarat register of betrayal and drink and injured pride, and it is a genre with an enormous audience and close to no critical literature.

He described the work himself in that same interview: "Singing has been my true passion and living by it, I very often perform live at Morari Bapu's Katha event and at the events of Bhaguda Mogal Dham. Music has its own way of attracting people. Sometimes language does not matter when you enjoy the song and its music." Note what sits either side of that sentence. Devotional katha stages on one hand, whiskey songs on the other, the same voice, the same week. That range is normal on this circuit and almost impossible to explain to anyone who thinks Gujarati music is either garba or bhajan.

His profile on 29 July 2026 held 2,117,869 followers across 3,068 posts, follows 187 accounts, is platform verified and is categorised as musician or band. The entire bio is two lines: an instruction to send a direct message for paid promotion and show enquiries, and an invocation to Jadiyavir Dada.

There is no funnel, no catalogue to click through to, no monetised back end that a follower can reach. The follower count is not an audience he sells advertising against, it is a queue of event organisers, and the only call to action he needs is a direct message.
