Geeta Rabari is a folk singer from a village in Kutch who now carries more followers than any other Gujarati creator this project has measured, in any category, across any platform. On 29 July 2026 her Instagram account held 4,812,004 followers and her YouTube channel had turned 260 uploads into 925,332,930 views. English Wikipedia has never written her up. The one page on English Wikipedia that carries her photograph is WikiProject Women in Red's index of missing articles by occupation, filed under singers, which is a polite way of saying the encyclopedia knows she is absent and has not got round to it. That gap between what a Gujarati audience knows and what a reference work records is this page.
The arc
01Tappar, and the fifth standard
Gujarati Wikipedia records that she was born in 1996 in Tappar, a village in Kutch district, and that her singing career started while she was in the fifth standard. Wikidata carries the same birth year with the same village as her place of birth. That is the whole documented biography in every language combined, and it fits in two sentences.
What she sings is not one genre but the full live repertoire of the Gujarati devotional and folk circuit: bhajan, lokgeet, santvani and dayro. Those are stage forms first and recordings second, which matters for everything that follows. A dayro singer's product is an evening, not a track.
02The channel that arrived last and outperformed everyone
Her YouTube channel opened on 21 June 2018, which makes it nine years younger than Kirtidan Gadhvi's and six younger than Aditya Gadhvi's. In that shorter run it has posted 260 videos and collected 925,332,930 views, an average of 3.56 million views for every single upload.
There is no back catalogue underneath that number and no label pushing it. She releases through the year rather than stockpiling for Navratri, which is the release strategy of somebody who treats the channel as a working shopfront rather than a seasonal campaign.
03Found on one app, played on another
The 4,812,004 Instagram followers sit against 2.56 million YouTube subscribers, a ratio of nearly two to one. All three of the big Gujarati folk artists on this project run the same shape, Kirtidan Gadhvi at 2.24 to one and Aditya Gadhvi at 1.92 to one, and hers is 1.88 to one. Discovery happens on Instagram. Consumption happens on YouTube.
The commercial layer is not hidden behind any of it. Her bio carries a phone number and the words live show and paid promotion, and that is the entire sales apparatus. A folk singer who once needed a promoter to reach a community hall abroad now needs a handset that rings, and the platform did not change what she sells so much as delete everyone who used to stand in the middle.
04Filed under missing
We checked the encyclopedia record properly rather than assuming it. She has an article on Gujarati Wikipedia and a Wikidata item, Q65397578, which links to exactly two sites: Gujarati Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons. No English article, no Hindi article, nothing else.
Her Commons photograph is used on English Wikipedia in precisely one place, WikiProject Women in Red's missing articles by occupation list for singers. The largest Gujarati creator account in existence is present on English Wikipedia only as an entry on a to-do list. Scale in a regional language does not convert into encyclopedic presence, and that is a structural fact about how reference works get built, not a fact about her.
The work that matters
Gujarati Wikipedia records this as the song that crossed 1.3 crore views after its April 2017 release, and it did that a full year before she opened her own YouTube channel. Pick it over anything more recent because it proves the audience assembled before the infrastructure did.
The other title Gujarati Wikipedia names as a breakout. It matters because the song carries her community in the title and made no attempt to travel by softening that, which is the opposite of the usual regional crossover play.
Not a song, and arguably her most consequential piece of work. A phone number plus the words live show turns four and a half million followers into a bookable calendar without an agency taking a cut. Most artists with this reach have a management layer. She has a handset.
